Dear Professor Gardiakos,
As I put together my ePortfolio, I realized how much my writing has changed since the beginning of this class. In the begging of this semester, I was not confident in my writing or communication skills because I didn’t take the most advanced English classes. This class has helped me feel more comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings with my peers. Looking back at all the work I have completed, I can see a big difference in how I expressed myself. One of my goals in this class was to become a better writer while still being me. I tried my best to make my writing sound clear, organized, and easy to follow instead of something you wouldn't want to read or listen to. I related most of my work to things I love and that clearly was softball. Writing and talking about something I love and care about made it easier to stay locked into the work. As I looked over my work, I tried to pay attention to how organized it was and if it had a good flow to it, so the audience wouldn’t get bored. I also learned that writing is a process and making edits makes a big difference. Looking back, I’m proud of how thoughtful my writing was. I learned that writing doesn't just get taught in the classroom but in everyday life. A challenge I did face was balancing this class and traveling all summer for softball. There were a few times when I felt overwhelmed specifically in the beginning of the class when I was learning how to do things, but I continued to get the work done. Those experiences taught me that writing helps with practice, patience, and feedback. Overall, this course has taught me more than just writing; it taught me how to manage my time and how to communicate. As you review my ePortfolio I hope you notice not just the completed assignments but also the growth and time I put into it. Thank you for taking the time to read my work and helping me be more confident in myself.
